Upgrade from AX 2012 to Finance and Operations

Update is Now Simply supported from Dynamics AX 2012 R2 or Dynamics AX 2012 R3. For each release, please update to the newest available cumulative upgrade before updating to Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations.

Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations Running Platform Upgrade 8 and the July 2017 Application release, and later offers an upgrade path that customers who now run Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 may use to move their data and code to Finance and Operations. Currently update from AX 2012 R3 and AX 2012 R2 are encouraged. The update process is made on the following components:

· Tools that will assist you get forward existing custom program code from AX 2012.

· A data update process which you can use to bring your database ahead. Thus, you can update your full history.

Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 implementations that are running a few deprecated attributes Cannot now be Updated to Finance and Operations. For example, an upgrade is not possible from Systems that are utilizing either virtual firms or data partitions.
